i'd rather be shot than....
two morgan state students decided to have their friend shoot them so they could avoid having to undergo fraternity pledging rituals. this is so sad. the two guys wanted to stay in baltimore for the summer, so they believed being shot would relieve them of any fraternity activities. so - one of these guys came up with a clever idea: let's ask a friend to shoot us.
here's where it gets even crazier. the friend actually agrees and shoots the guys; one is injured in the leg extremely close to his femoral artery. [sigh] now the two guys have this creative story for the police: we were robbed and shot outside a local gas station. [oh-k] the police started the investigation and reviewed the surveillance tapes at the gas station; they realized that they had never been there; in fact, they found the weapon in the back of the "victim's" car. the guys now face charges of filing a false police report, etc..
question - what in the living hell... just really - what the hell? i am part of the pan hellenic family [what's up, sorors!]- and it disturbs me that it's this bad. what exactly were these guys faced with where they would rather be shot instead of deal with a frat? i can imagine, but really - what happened? which frat do you think will be suspended because of this? you already know it's coming.
for the record, i don't condone any form of hazing. i only support love and brotherhood-sisterhood relationships that fraternities & sororities normally provide. i don't know which frat is responsible for this, but i'm about to show my frat some love b/c i know every single frat at morgan is feeling the heat for this incident. let's get it together people!

That was definitely stupid. I'm not a greek, but I did consider pledging. I'll probably end up in the 100 Black Men sooner or later. I was never down for that hazing stuff. I don't see how beating a brother down, makes you closer to him. That has to be some slave mentality stuff at best.
I agree with MegaRich. When was in high school we some groups you had to pledge like hazing in college. That right there discouraged me. I am like how is taking humilation and beatings solidarity. Sounds more like how you get jumped into games.
I can't believe that people go this far.
I have no further comment on it.
Thanks for sharing this info though.
This is crazy! I can't believe that ANY fraternity/sorority is so bad that you'd rather shoot yourself than do some service events or whatnot.
I'm a member of a coed fraternity as well, and this just gives greek a bad name.
What morons!
Lord have mercy. Why can't the Que's keep their butts out of trouble!!! lol And, what in the world possessed you to pledge the SECOND organization that came along!!!? lol I don't do seconds my sweet daughter, only FIRSTS!!What's with everybody and mentioning their organizations today!?
Seriously though. I'm only kidding. I love my organization, but I'm not even active right now. I plan to in a month or so (our centennial is next year) and I'm going to try to maintain from here on out, but while hazing does get crazy, it would be a cold day in hell before I shoot myself! Geesh!
WOW... that's just crazy all the way around
I heard hazing is bad, but shit it can't that bad... to get my boy to shoot me? It can't be that bad
You mean to tell me that two young people in the process of being COLLEGE EDUCATED came up with this idea? Sounds to me like they have soooooooooooooooooooooooo many more issues that they need to work out before they even consider an extracurricular activity. If I was one of their mothers, we'd be looking into trade schools right now.
